Tree removal in Rugby

Sometimes a tree has to come down: it's dead or dying, it's been damaged in a storm, or it has simply outgrown the space next to a house. Where there's room, a tree can be felled in one piece. In most Rugby gardens there isn't, so we take it down in controlled sections, lowering pieces away from roofs, fences and borders, then clear the timber and brash. More about tree removal and dismantling.

Crown reduction and pruning

A healthy tree that's too big for its space often doesn't need to come down. A crown reduction brings in the height and spread while keeping the tree's natural shape; pruning takes out dead, damaged, crossing or overhanging branches; crown lifting raises the canopy over lawns, paths and drives. We also pollard suitable trees. More about crown reduction and pruning.

Hedge cutting and trimming

From garden boundaries to longer hedges around business premises, we cut, trim and reduce hedges and take the clippings away. If a hedge has got out of hand, we'll tell you honestly how far it can be taken back in one go. More about hedge cutting.

Emergency tree work

If a storm brings down a tree or a large branch at your home or business in or around Rugby, call us and we'll talk through what's happened and how we can help make it safe and clear it. Please keep away from anything touching overhead power lines and contact the network operator first.

Other work we do

Areas we cover around Rugby

We're based in Dunchurch, so most of our work is a short drive away: Rugby town, Bilton, Hillmorton, Brownsover, Newbold on Avon and Cawston, and villages including Long Lawford, Clifton upon Dunsmore, Kilsby, Crick, Barby, Wolston and Binley Woods. If you're not sure whether we cover you, just ask.

Is the tree protected?

Some trees in Rugby borough are covered by a Tree Preservation Order, and trees in conservation areas are protected as well. Most work on a protected tree needs the council's consent first, and for trees in a conservation area you normally have to give the council six weeks' notice. Rugby Borough Council explains the rules:

If you're not sure about your tree, ask us when we come to look at the job and we'll talk you through what to check.
